The project
The client
Exhaust Revolution makes type-approved handcrafted exhausts in Quargnento, in the province of Alessandria, for custom motorcycles, café racers and scramblers, and for Harley-Davidson, Indian and Royal Enfield. It grew out of the meeting between an experienced welder and a motorcycle enthusiast, and is an accredited manufacturer of type-approved exhausts.
The brief
A handmade exhaust is judged by its details: the bends of the headers, the welds, the finishes. The photos had to show them up close without losing sight of the bike they are fitted to.
The approach
We bring our experience in motorsport product photography to the set. Every bike is one of a kind and the lighting is built around it: a dark background, raking light that traces the curves of the headers and brings out the welds and finishes, no effects to hide the handiwork. Presence first, then the details. Before the studio shots, we also documented the work in the workshop, with a black-and-white reportage.
